He was talking about styles such as Polynesian music, Chilean "cueca", Bolivian "tinku", Japanese "enka" or Middle Eastern folk music. The saxophone isn't normally used in those styles .... "Too bright" was a comment on the clarinet mouthpiece, and "dull" was a comment of an other player on the saxophone mouthpiece. 2. Bright with a bad reponse can be dull. Space allow for more easy playing of bell low notes too. The mute looks nice with a cool shape, it's classy. There are mount and hole for mic/wire, and a hole to hold a lyre for reading music. I suspect that is true. Most modern pads have some degree of waterproofing (and sealing of any porosity - apart from kangaroo pads). When badly done it is sticky; when well done it is not stick, and it is very successful. I can understand dye for a visual point of difference, but not paint..
